FanDuel and Amazon have announced a new integration of gambling odds into live basketball games.
In September 2025, FanDuel announced that it would become the official odds provider of NBA & WNBA on Prime Video.
FanDuel will power a new bet tracking feature, which users can disable in the Prime Video mobile app settings.
The FanDuel-Amazon deal was announced just a day after DraftKings and NBCUniversal announced a “landmark” content and marketing partnership ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Blake Griffin Joins FanDuel and Amazon
As part of the partnership, former NBA star Blake Griffin, an NBA on Prime analyst, will serve as an ambassador for FanDuel.
FanDuel will feature Griffin in commercials and on the company’s social media platforms.
“Our partnership as the official odds provider for NBA and WNBA on Prime Video represents a significant milestone in how we connect with basketball fans,” said Mike Raffensperger, President of Sports at FanDuel. “By integrating custom content into Prime Video’s NBA broadcasts, we will enhance the fan viewing experience and connect with new audiences.”
Amazon-FanDuel Bet Tracking
When a user links their Prime Video profile to their FanDuel gambling account, their active NBA bets will be displayed and updated on the screen. These gamblers no longer need to jump between apps to monitor their wagers.
The bet tracking feature does not allow users to place bets directly on Prime Video.
An odds view feature can be activated to show a “rotating feed” of live odds, lines, and probabilities related to “popular bets.”
These bets include moneylines, spreads, over/under totals, player and game props, and parlays (FanDuel’s most lucrative product).
Gambling Addiction Considerations
It’s good that FanDuel and Amazon give users the ability to disable the bet tracking feature.
FanDuel also offers self-exclusion and other tools to potentially help users control their activity. Still, these features are often not enough for people experiencing gambling addiction.
Betting addiction statistics show that over 50% of sports bettors have chased losses.
The FanDuel partnership with Blake Griffin is also problematic. While the sports betting industry as a whole has broadly adopted celebrity endorsements, these partnerships carry significant risks. (LeBron James, for example, partnered with DraftKings.)
Celebrity endorsements of gambling products can make gambling seem safer. Celebrities can heavily influence young people, who are more at risk of problem gambling.
Also of note: FanDuel-Amazon’s plan for “popular bets” can create a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out). The FOMO anxiety could be risky for NBA viewers/bettors experiencing feelings of loneliness or isolation.
