Is there a luckiest casino in the U.S.? Of course not, but that doesn’t mean the idea isn’t thrown around as a marketing tactic to promote gambling.
According to a Forbes article that cited a peculiar methodology, the luckiest casino in the U.S. as of 2025 is Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.
Forbes cited Casinos.com, which scanned Tripadvisor reviews to track how often visitors mentioned luck-related keywords such as “luck,” “lucky,” “won,” “winning,” “jackpot,” “bonus,” and “profit.” The more frequent the lucky language, the higher a casino ranked on the list.
That’s an absurd methodology for determining the so-called luckiest casino.
Casinos.com admitted it was all bogus in a disclaimer, saying that the data was “intended for entertainment purposes only” and that it “does not claim any one casino to be luckier than another.”
Proof of Luckiest Casino in the United States?
Of course, there would never be any proof or evidence that a particular brick-and-mortar casino is the luckiest.
Still, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa enjoys the distinction, and in August 2025, the casino announced that one customer won nearly 400 slot jackpots in a single day.
Seminole Hard Rock Tampa said the feat helps it “live up to its title” as the luckiest casino in the U.S.
In July, a gambler won more than $1.8 million after winning 389 jackpots.
Jackpot breakdowns included:
- $170,000 on Lock It Link
- $99,000 on Panda Magic Dragon Link
- $258,000 on Golden Century Dragon Link
“This lucky streak is one of the most impressive one-day runs in the property’s history,” the casino said in a press release.
While it may sound improbable, it is possible with extremely high-volume play, often involving large bets and rapid spins. It would take dangerous levels of gambling and chasing losses.
“Stories like this show just how exciting and rewarding a visit to Seminole Hard Rock Tampa can be,” said Joseph Wagner, Vice President & Assistant General Manager of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. “This guest’s incredible day is certainly unique, and it’s always thrilling to see someone have such an unforgettable experience.”
The casino said that it has paid out more than $1.6 billion in jackpots so far in 2025. However, we have no data on how this figure compares to previous years or other casinos.
The Truth: There is No Luckiest Casino
Casinos in the U.S. do not provide data that allows for comparisons of how much they pay out to gamblers or the average size of the jackpots won.
State gambling regulators don’t require such data to be disclosed, and casinos typically choose not to release it.
Large language models provide ways to scan huge volumes of text to gather data on user sentiment. Data on how many patrons write about being “lucky” at a casino on Tripadvisor is woefully insufficient for any credible claim of “luckiest casino” in the United States.
This is not to say all casinos are the same or have the same gambling offerings.
Some casinos have more slots with higher return-to-player (RTP) percentages than other properties. In blackjack, for example, some casinos spread games that are slightly better for the player than blackjack at another casino.
Who Had the Luckiest Casino Run in History?
Archie Karas is often considered the “luckiest gambler” in history—at least for a time.
In the early 1990s, he famously won over $40 million in Las Vegas, defeating poker stars and winning millions from high-stakes craps.
His incredible run, known as “The Run” in the gambling industry, is infamous for its sheer improbability and dangerous risk-taking. Karas bet millions in a single gambling session.
But his fortune didn’t last. A few years later, Karas was broke.
Just as quickly as he won it, he lost it all back through continued gambling, proving that even the luckiest streaks are fleeting in the world of high-stakes betting.
During his streak, Karas said that some casinos were luckier than others. He was wrong.
Don’t Fall for Gambling Superstition
You will lose money over the long run by gambling.
You might go through periods of being or feeling lucky, but casino games are designed to have mathematical advantages for the house.
It doesn’t matter if it’s slots, sports betting or card games, you won’t win in the long run. Sports betting is often confused as a skill-based game, but it is considered gambling.
If you gamble rarely and in a healthy way, a little bit of superstition is harmless. It’s a natural thing humans do to make sense of the world.
However, if you gamble regularly and feel that certain factors external to the casino game will impact your chances, Gambling Harm recommends that you stop gambling.
